There is an听industry need听for听digital product designers who are听creative, but also have the technical skills to design and prototype听solutions, communicate with stakeholders, and produce听viable, commercial products.鈥
In the Digital Product Design听major, you听will learn the product design process with a focus on interactive digital products such as mobile and computer applications,听websites and web听applications, and emerging technologies such as virtual and augmented reality.
To be a Digital Product Designer, you need to be:

Entry to the听Digital Product听Design major is open to anyone with entry to the University.听
Secondary school studies in related subjects such as digital technologies, technology,听drawing and graphics,听or design and visual communication would be an advantage.
To complete a Bachelor of Product Design in听Digital Product听Design, you must complete听compulsory courses听in introductory product design, management, engineering, and mathematics, as well as required courses towards the听Digital Product听Design major.

The digital product design industry is growing and maturing. While it used to be that engineers were also responsible for the design of products,听there is now the necessity for听specialised听digital product designers who听are听focused on听the whole product lifecycle, from research and prototyping through to testing and feedback to ensure听end-user needs听are met.听
