COGENT was formed at the end of 2016 to raise the profile and enhance the research of聽COmbinatorics,聽GEometry, and聽Number聽Theory within the School of Mathematics and Statistics.

Our research topics are mainly based on the interests of Chris Stevens and David Wiltshire. Broadly they include cosmology, mathematical and numerical relativity, black holes, gravitational waves, quasilocal energy, and the global structure of space-time.
