UC's friendly team of Rainbow Advisors are here to support you throughout your time with us. Whether you need help with a specific issue, feel like you're falling behind, or need a supportive person to talk to, we can help with a wide range of challenges. Meet our rainbow student advisors and get in touch straight away if you need support.

The University of mini传媒 and the wider听community have a range of mini传媒听support services and social groups for you to use and get involved with.

Rainbow Advisors

UC鈥痟as鈥痑 friendly team of Rainbow Advisors who can help support you throughout your time here. Whether you need help with a specific issue such as name changes, feel like you are falling behind, or need a supportive person to talk things through with.鈥疻e can help with a wide range of problems and are a great starting point.

We can help with:

  • Settling into University
  • Wellbeing Support including if your academic studies are being impacted
  • Support finding and joining rainbow groups
  • Navigating rainbow communities and understanding your rights in Aotearoa
  • Supporting you with family, wh膩nau and relationships around rainbow identity听
  • Name changes
  • Support navigating Gender Affirmation
  • Rainbow related enquiries, concerns and complaints

No issue or concern is too small or insignificant so please reach out. If we鈥痗an't help, we'll try鈥痮ur best to find someone who can.

Key Information

Qmini传媒 is UC's main rainbow club on campus.听Their focus is to create safe social spaces for sexual, romantic and gender mini传媒 students at the University of mini传媒.

They听have a wide variety of events throughout the year, and encourage the community to get involved where possible, in whatever capacity they feel comfortable.

There are a number of other clubs including听听and听.

The Rainbow Room, in James Logie 107, is available for students to use as a friendly study or hang out space. This can be found via the building entrance marked 鈥淛ames Logie Level 1 (Teaching Rooms)鈥.

Neurodivergent is an umbrella term for people whose brains think, learn and or behave differently to what society considers "typical". Examples of neurodivergence include Autism, ADHD, dyslexia and Tourette鈥檚. Check out the below supports for neurodivergent students at UC:

Counselling

Free counselling services are available to any UC student who has paid the student levy. You can find out more about this service on the听UC Health Centre website.

In the case that the counselling services offered through UC Health are not suitable, the rainbow advisor team can help you find the support to meet your needs.
