"I love the overall energy and flow of the place..."

HOW TO APPLY

Studying towards a听Bachelor of Sport Coaching听in Sports Leadership and Management, with a minor in Media and Communication

What was it that brought you down from Auckland to study at UC?

I found UC had the best overall vibe that drew me in, especially with Sport Coaching. Sports has always been my passion my whole life so to me there was never any other options.

How have you found your Sports degree so far?

It鈥檚 such a fun field and you can learn so much about yourself and sports in general. Usually I go to my classes and study during the day, and then I鈥檒l either go to the Rec Centre or go to a sports training in the arvo.

What鈥檚 your goal for your sports career?

Hopefully to be a Head of Sport at a school, or involved in a big sports industry like Sport NZ!

What do you think about UC?

I love the overall energy and flow of the place and the campus is so pretty!

I chose to live in halls of residence because it鈥檚 such a great opportunity to meet new people and get involved in the university life. It鈥檚 also right next to the Uni which is a bonus!

Was it a bit challenging at first then?

I found it quite hard coming from living in such a rural area to living literally a 10-min walk from anything you need, and having people literally a door away. Also I miss the farm and beaches from my home. I鈥檝e found walking around and finding local parks and beaches has helped.

What鈥檚 been a highlight from Uni Hall?

I think my highlight would have to be making all the new friends I鈥檝e made, and especially I鈥檝e loved how close my floor has become, we鈥檙e like a little family.

So all-in-all, you would recommend living in a hall?

I would say definitely go for it. It鈥檚 a one-time opportunity and an overall great experience to get out of your
