Verena worked as a DIPLO Intern during 2021. She worked with Dr Serena Kelly and Dr Mathew Doidge on a project examining Pacific media portrayals of the EU and China as development actors.
Verena completed a Dual Master鈥檚 in聽European Public Administration聽in a cooperative programme of the聽Hochschule f眉r 枚ffentliche Verwaltung und Finanzen in Ludwigsburg聽and the Hochschule f眉r 枚ffentliche Verwaltung in Kehl聽in 2021. The focus of her studies was European law, EU policy and administrative management. She undertook electives in intercultural communication and development cooperation. Her Master鈥檚 thesis was titled:聽Impact of the Corona pandemic on the promotion of environmentally friendly transport in European cities.
